Get a second opinion on furnace replacement
– Listen to your “gut”
At Aabbott Ferraro we commonly receive calls from customers who just had one of our competitors in their home to simply service their system and ultimately get news they need a new furnace. Then they tell us that “they just had a feeling” the guy was not telling the truth. Listen to your gut feeling: it’s your right to call another company for a second opinion. Don’t let a high-pressure technician (salesman) force you into a decision with scare tactics. The harder they push, the more suspicious you should be.
5 Things To Check Before You Call For Furnace Repair Service
Is the filter clean? Dirty filters will cause the furnace to overheat and kick off on a safety switch.
Is the furnace’s power switch on? This looks like a light switch and is normally on the side of a furnace.
Is the thermostat turned to heat and is the temperature set point higher than the temperature in the home?
Are the home’s exterior furnace PVC pipes clear of snow and ice? This applies to 90% of furnaces. Older furnaces are vented up through the roof.
Try turning the furnace off for 1 minute and then turning it back on. If this works, you should still have an Aabbott Ferraro service tech see why the furnace locked out.
